These Blood Orange Bubblies are the perfect spring treat: refreshing, light, sweet and tart! Think a cross between a dressed-up seltzer and a natural Italian soda, or a bright, airy cocktail if you booze it up!
This drink is perfect in the last cold, snowy/rainy weeks of spring. Right when peak orange and blood orange season is at it's very end and you totally need a perky, summery drink to make you believe that warmer days are right around the corner - they are!!
These Bubblies are a fantastic addition to your spread if you're hosting spring brunch. Double the recipe to make a big pitcher and decorate it with extra orange slices and mint sprigs for a beautiful burst of color.
Blood Orange Bubblies
- 16 oz. plain seltzer water
- 1 blood orange (juiced) + additional slices for garnish
- 1 naval orange (juiced)
- 3 springs mint + additional sprigs for garnish
- (optional 3 oz. gin)
In a mason jar combine mint, orange juices, and a handful of ice, close the jar and shake vigorously (this is to activate the mint!). Strain into two glasses filled with ice, add cold seltzer, optionally garnish with additional orange slices and mint springs. AND if you’re really feeling it 3 oz. gin would spike this perfectly.
